The 2nd annual GPA retirees’ Thanksgiving weekend event was a resounding success this past weekend on the island of Guam. This year’s event, organized by the Guam Power Authority Retirees Association, brought together retired GPA employees for a weekend of camaraderie, reminiscing, and celebration.
The event kicked off with a welcome reception on Friday evening, where retirees had the opportunity to reconnect with former colleagues and swap stories from their time working at GPA. The highlight of the weekend was a Thanksgiving feast on Saturday, complete with all the traditional trimmings. Retirees enjoyed a delicious meal while catching up with old friends and sharing fond memories of their time at GPA.
In addition to the social aspect of the weekend, retirees also had the opportunity to give back to the community. The GPA Retirees Association organized a canned food drive to benefit local food banks, with retirees generously donating non-perishable goods to help those in need during the holiday season.
Overall, the 2nd annual GPA retirees’ Thanksgiving weekend was a heartwarming event that brought together former GPA employees in a spirit of gratitude and giving. The retirees in attendance expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to reconnect with old friends and reflect on their time working at GPA. Looking ahead, the GPA Retirees Association is already planning next year’s event, with hopes of making it even bigger and better than before.
