The South Carolina high school state playoffs kicked off last Friday with standout performances from several athletes. Raleigh Salters of Dutch Fork was last week’s winner in the High School On SI voting polls, highlighting top high school athletes and teams without awards. The current nominees include a Raiders quarterback with a rushing touchdown, a Wilson quarterback carrying the Cavaliers to an upset win, Guthrie’s impressive performance with 5 catches for 111 yards and 3 touchdowns, Holmes running for 199 yards and 3 touchdowns, Skinner’s stellar play on both offense and defense in a 47-38 victory, Landrum’s impressive stats in a 32-11 win, Avinger’s all-around performance with over 20 yards per snap, Thompson’s 206-yard, 3-touchdown performance, a freshman quarterback’s 234-yard, 4-touchdown game, and Jones’ 212-yard, 2-touchdown outing with three tackles.
Voting for the nominees closes at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, with the winner announced in the following week’s poll. Fans can vote as much as they want and are encouraged to share the polls. The use of automated voting is prohibited, and individuals will be removed if detected. These athletes’ performances are certainly making waves in the high school sports scene, showcasing their talent and dedication on the field.
