Intoxicated woman contacts authorities following altercation with former partner


A drunk woman in Union County, South Carolina, called the police after shooting her ex-boyfriend on Black Friday. The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. when deputies responded to a call regarding a shooting at the 2000 block of Browns Creek Church Road. The woman, identified as 31-year-old Demarla Davis, claimed that she shot her ex-boyfriend with a handgun. When deputies arrived, they detected a strong smell of alcohol on Davis and detained her. The victim was taken to Union Medical Center and then transferred to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for surgery. He reported that Davis had been harassing him about items she left with him and that she shot him once before continuing to fire at him and his vehicle. Davis was charged with attempted murder and discharging a firearm under the influence, with more charges expected as the investigation continues. The incident is still under investigation by the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
