United Airlines is teaming up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to bring holiday magic to children with serious illnesses through their “Fantasy Flights” program. The initiative will transport families to a North Pole experience, complete with festive decorations and a visit from Santa Claus.
Flights from 13 cities, including Houston, will take passengers to a winter wonderland created at the airport gates. United employees, local volunteers, and team members will work together to make the experience memorable for the children and their families. The airline has also partnered with local nonprofits and hospitals in cities like Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, and Tokyo.
United Airlines has pledged to match up to 5 million donated miles and up to $500,000 in donations through travel certificates. Make-A-Wish America’s president and CEO, Leslie Motter, expressed gratitude for the support, emphasizing how these contributions can bring hope, joy, and strength to wish kids and their families.
The program aims to spread joy and create lasting memories for children facing difficult circumstances during the holiday season. With the help of United Airlines and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, these children can experience a magical journey to the North Pole and forget their worries, even if just for a day.
