Deschutes Library Selects “Murder by Degrees” for A Novel Idea Community Reading Event – The Bulletin

The Deschutes Public Library has announced its selection for the annual A Novel Idea community reading event. This year, the chosen book is “Murder by Degrees” by Rosemary Simm. The novel follows the story of a detective investigating a series of murders that appear to be connected to a prestigious university. The book is praised for its suspenseful plot and well-developed characters.

The A Novel Idea program encourages community members to read the selected book and participate in various events and discussions related to the novel. The goal is to foster a sense of community through shared reading experiences. In addition to book discussions, the library will host virtual author events and panel discussions to dive deeper into the themes of the book.

“We are excited to announce ‘Murder by Degrees’ as this year’s A Novel Idea selection,” said the library director. “We believe this book will engage readers and spark meaningful conversations within our community.”

The library will distribute free copies of the book at all of its branches, as well as offer ebook and audiobook versions for those who prefer digital reading. The A Novel Idea program will officially kick off in April, with events running until June.

Community members are encouraged to join book clubs, attend author events, and participate in discussions to fully immerse themselves in the world of “Murder by Degrees.” The library hopes that this year’s selection will bring the community together through the power of literature and storytelling.
