South Carolina head football coach Shane Beamer led a campaign for his team to secure a spot in the College Football Playoff, following an impressive 9-3 season. The Gamecocks finished with a six-game winning streak, including victories over several ranked teams. Despite Beamer’s efforts, the CFP Committee ultimately left South Carolina out of the newly expanded 12-team playoff, ranking them at No. 14 in the second-to-last ranking. The team’s social media team continued the campaign, but it was unlikely they would move up in the rankings. The Gamecocks were ranked No. 14 in the AP Top 25 Poll, and now await their bowl game announcement. Beamer is scheduled to speak in Columbia, SC to address the disappointment of not making it to the playoff. Fans and supporters are encouraged to stay tuned for updates.
