The University of South Carolina will be facing off against the University of Illinois in the 2024 Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at 3 p.m. ET in Orlando, Florida. The game will be nationally televised on ABC. South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer expressed excitement about returning to Orlando for the bowl game and looks forward to the challenge of playing Illinois for the first time. The Gamecocks finished the season with a 9-3 record and are aiming for their 10th win of the season. This will be South Carolina’s fourth trip to a bowl game in Orlando and their first since 2013. South Carolina Athletics Director Ray Tanner praised the team’s outstanding season and sees the Citrus Bowl as a great reward for the players, coaches, and football staff. Illinois also finished with a 9-3 record and will provide a tough opponent for South Carolina in the upcoming game.
