No. 9 TCU faced off against defending NCAA champions South Carolina in the U.S. LBM Coast to Coast Challenge, ultimately falling short with a score of 85-52. Hailey Van Lith led TCU with 21 points and six assists, but the team struggled with turnovers and shooting percentage. Despite a strong start, TCU couldn’t maintain the lead as South Carolina pulled ahead with a 7-0 run in the first quarter. TCU’s deficit continued to grow in the second and third quarters, with South Carolina dominating on the boards and bench points. TCU suffered its first nonconference loss under head coach Mark Campbell after a 22-game winning streak. The team will now pause for final exams before returning to face Louisiana Tech in the 18th Maggie Dixon Classic. Van Lith’s performance stood out, leading TCU in scoring for the sixth consecutive game and reaching a career milestone with her fifth 20-point performance of the season. Madison Conner also neared the 1,000 career point mark with five points in the game.
