Uni Seoul Secures ₹5 Crore in Seed Funding to Expand Lifestyle Brand

Bengaluru, India – Contemporary lifestyle brand Uni Seoul has successfully raised ₹5 crore (approximately $585,000) in a seed funding round led by early-stage consumer investor Sauce VC. The funding round also attracted support from Panthera Peak Ventures and notable individual investors including Arun Venkatachalam, Sangeet Agrawal, Navin Parwal, and Yogesh Kabra.

With the fresh capital, Uni Seoul aims to enhance its offline presence in tier I cities, launching new outlets in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai. The funds will also support the development of new private labels, improve its direct-to-consumer (D2C) platform, ramp up marketing strategies, and optimize supply chain operations.

Founded by Gaurav Karmani and Mohit Khurana, Uni Seoul operates across various lifestyle categories including home and living, personal care, gifting, and fashion accessories. Currently, the brand boasts four profitable stores in Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Nashik, contributing to its growing footprint in India’s lifestyle retail sector. The company offers an expansive catalogue of over 700 stock-keeping units (SKUs), sourcing 40% of its inventory domestically and importing the remainder from South Korea, India, China, and Vietnam.

The startup has also made strides online, launching its e-commerce platform in October 2023, which now accounts for approximately 27% of overall revenue. The brand aims to triple its growth within a year through an omnichannel strategy.

Co-founder and CEO Mohit Khurana expressed enthusiasm about the funding, stating, “Having Sauce VC’s backing validates our vision. We’re committed to offering affordable, design-first products that brighten everyday living.” Manu Chandra, Founder & Partner at Sauce VC, highlighted the brand’s potential in catering to India’s youthful consumer base, predicting a thriving trajectory similar to successful models across Asia.
