Press Release: Greenville Zoo Welcomes New African Painted Dogs

Greenville, S.C. – The Greenville Zoo is excited to announce the arrival of two African painted dog sisters, Bailey and Parker, just in time for summer. Brought from a safari park in Ohio on April 24, these endangered animals are native to sub-Saharan Africa and are known for their highly social nature.

Animal care specialist Sierra Stine expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “These have honestly been one of the top animals I wanted to work with, so it’s like a dream come true.” Stine added that the dogs are intelligent and food-motivated, which makes training them particularly exciting for the staff.

In the pack dynamics, Bailey stands out as the alpha, while Parker typically follows her lead. The introduction of these new members enhances the zoo’s commitment to education and conservation efforts.

Visitors can look forward to engaging with these remarkable animals and learning more about their behaviors and habitat. The Greenville Zoo continues to enrich its offerings and ensure an unforgettable experience for all guests.
