Memphis Tigers Sign Graduate Transfer Zachary Davis for 2025-26 Basketball Season
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men’s basketball team has announced the signing of 6-foot-7 wing Zachary Davis for the 2025-26 season. A native of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Davis joins the Tigers as a graduate transfer after three seasons with the South Carolina Gamecocks, choosing Memphis over notable programs such as Xavier and Pittsburgh.
Davis played in 95 out of 98 possible games at South Carolina, starting 38 of those. In the 2024-25 season, he averaged 8.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.1 steals per game, ranking as the Gamecocks’ fourth-leading scorer. His defensive skills were invaluable, often marking the opposing team’s top perimeter player.
Known for his consistency, Davis contributed significantly during his sophomore year, helping South Carolina to a 26-win season and a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament. He recorded career-high scoring games of 22 points on two occasions last season.
Davis is the eighth addition to Memphis’s 2025 recruiting class, which includes several other promising prospects. For more information, visit www.GoTigersGo.com.
