Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival Sparks Curiosity at 14th Annual Expo
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The 14th Annual Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival enthralled attendees on Saturday with its signature event, the Giant Science and Technology Expo. This free, full-day exhibition provided a platform for engagement with pioneering technologies and captivating experiments. Over 60 STEM organizations from the community showcased interactive demonstrations, allowing visitors to connect with scientists, researchers, and STEM professionals from throughout Southern Nevada.
Participants experienced live showcases of robotics, virtual reality, and innovative wildlife encounters. One of the highlights was the opportunity to examine authentic prehistoric fossils unearthed from Nevada’s archaeological sites, providing a fascinating window into the region’s geological history.
In a new tradition initiated in 2023 by Elise L. Wolff Elementary School, the festival honored the Clark County School District (CCSD) school that drew the highest attendance by awarding them $1,000. This year, the prestigious Giant Expo Attendance Award went to Billy and Rosemary Vassiliadis Elementary School, celebrating their enthusiastic participation.
The festival exemplifies a commitment to fostering interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics among students and the broader community.
