Press Release: Shooting Incident at WestGate Mall in Spartanburg
Spartanburg, SC – Authorities responded to a shooting at WestGate Mall on Friday evening around 6:40 p.m. Spartanburg Police reported that the incident involved an altercation between two groups just before shots were fired near the mall’s food court.
As a result of the shooting, three individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital. The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office assisted in detaining two suspects at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, and police officials caution that details may change as more information becomes available. At this time, the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office has not been called to the site, indicating no fatalities occurred during the incident.
