Morris Ugusuk Transfers to West Virginia Mountaineers
Former South Carolina Gamecocks guard Morris Ugusuk has officially committed to the West Virginia Mountaineers, according to his agent Teddy Archer of TAA Sports. Ugusuk, a 6-foot-4 sophomore from Helsinki, Finland, spent two seasons with the Gamecocks, participating in 62 games and starting six. During his time, he averaged 4.1 points and one rebound per game, with his standout performance occurring in the 2024-2025 season, where he recorded career highs of 5.9 points, 1.4 rebounds, and a 40.7 percent shooting rate from behind the arc while averaging 22.3 minutes per game.
Originally joining South Carolina as a three-star recruit from Drive Basketball Academy in 2023, Ugusuk showcased his potential in high school with averages of 17.2 points, 5.3 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game. His transfer marks a significant move as he becomes the seventh Gamecock to enter the transfer portal this season.
