Game Suspended Due to Severe Weather: USC to Resume Play Sunday

COLUMBIA — The University of South Carolina’s baseball game against Florida on Saturday, May 3, was suspended due to heavy storms impacting the Midlands region. The match was halted in the bottom of the third inning with Florida leading 1-0, while the Gamecocks had a runner on second with two outs.

Following the weather interruption, officials announced that the suspended game will continue Sunday, May 4, at 1:30 p.m. at Ray Tanner Field at Founders Park. The third and final game of the series will take place 50 minutes after the conclusion of the suspended match. Sunday’s schedule includes a nine-inning game followed by a seven-inning contest, ensuring fans are in for an exciting doubleheader.

In terms of ticketing, those holding reserved tickets for the Saturday game will be allowed to sit in their assigned seats for the 1:30 p.m. resumed game. After the game ends, they can relocate to the Corner Pantry Berm or standing-room-only areas for the second game. Additionally, fans with reserved tickets for the Sunday game can attend the 1:30 match, moving to the same areas, and then they will have access to their designated seats for the second game.

As the Gamecocks prepare to take the field again, both teams and fans alike are hopeful for clearer skies and thrilling baseball ahead.
