South Carolina Quarterback LaNorris Sellers Gives Back to His Community with Generous Donation
In a heartwarming display of philanthropy, LaNorris Sellers, the starting quarterback for the South Carolina Gamecocks, has channeled his Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) funds to support his local community. Recently, Sellers donated $16,000 to the South Florence football program during a meet-and-greet event, reinforcing his commitment to giving back to the school that played a pivotal role in his athletic development.
Sellers, who led South Florence to its first state championship, expressed gratitude for his roots, stating, “I’m just really giving back to the school for everything they’ve done for me, my brothers, and all the other players.” His success at the high school level was significant—accumulating almost 4,300 total yards and 62 touchdowns in his senior year. His standout performance in the state title game saw him responsible for six touchdowns.
Now thriving as a quarterback for a prominent SEC program, Sellers continues to capitalize on NIL opportunities. Recently, he partnered with Collegiate Legends to create a custom action figure, which features him in Gamecocks gear and the chance for him to donate figures to local children in Columbia.
Sellers’ impressive career trajectory remains evident. In his redshirt freshman season, he was celebrated with accolades such as national freshman offensive player of the year and SEC freshman of the year. Playing in 12 games, he threw for 2,534 yards and 18 touchdowns, showcasing his skill with a completion rate of 65.6%. His breakout performance against Texas A&M solidified his reputation, earning him multiple honors and recognition.
