Franks Recognized on SEC Community Service Team – University of South Carolina Athletics

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Nathan Franks, a senior All-American golfer from the University of South Carolina, has been named to the SEC Community Service Team, as announced by the Southeastern Conference on Friday. Franks, a four-year starter for the Gamecocks, led his team in community service hours this year, significantly contributing to local initiatives, including sorting donations at the Harvest Hope Food Bank.

His efforts also extended to participating in Cocky’s All Sports Camp and organizing a Thanksgiving donation drive for the Gamecock Pantry, showcasing his commitment to serving the community.

On the golf course, Franks boasts a 70.67 scoring average, ranking second on his team and leading with 18 rounds of par or better. He has achieved five top-20 finishes out of ten starts, entering the postseason with a 71.58 career average, one of the best in school history.

Franks is currently making his PGA TOUR debut as an amateur at the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic, where he shot a commendable 67 (-4) in the opening round. The Gamecocks, 20th in the nation, will compete as the No. 4 seed at the NCAA Bremerton Regional next week, seeking a return to the NCAA Championship for the first time since 2019.
