Newberry County Sheriff’s Office Calls for Community Prayers Amid Health Crises
Newberry County, S.C. – The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office is reaching out to the community for prayers and support as severe health challenges continue to affect its members. On Thursday, the department shared details about ongoing health issues that have impacted several staff members.
Among the tribulations, one deputy suffered significant orthopedic injuries in a recent collision. Additionally, six employees have undergone major surgeries, addressing serious medical conditions including colon cancer, surgery for brain ailments, and kidney and gallbladder issues. Unfortunately, two of these staff members have faced complications requiring further hospitalization.
In a bittersweet twist during this period of hardship, the department also celebrated the joyful birth of a baby to one of its deputies, providing a moment of positivity amid the challenges. A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office urged the public to keep affected colleagues in their thoughts, emphasizing that every member of the small agency is vital.
