South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame Finds Permanent Home at State Museum
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — The South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame (SCAHF) has officially secured a permanent home at the South Carolina State Museum. A memorandum was signed on Saturday evening, establishing a new partnership that allows visitors to experience the Hall’s memorabilia, which includes signed baseballs, Olympic gold medals, and game-worn jerseys.
This collaboration aims to create a dedicated sports exhibit within the state museum, showcasing the rich history and achievements of South Carolina athletes and coaches. The exhibit not only honors the past but also serves as an inspiring space for future generations to explore the state’s athletic legacy.
As part of the ongoing celebrations, the SCAHF will induct ten new members into the Hall of Fame, including NFL all-star Richard Seymour, on Monday, May 19th. This induction ceremony will highlight the contributions of these athletes to the fabric of South Carolina sports.
The South Carolina State Museum is open to the public on Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. and from Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., providing ample opportunity for sports fans and locals alike to explore the new exhibit.
