ATLANTA, GA – A dramatic kidnapping that commenced in South Carolina concluded in Rockdale County, Georgia, on Saturday. Covington police reported that a woman approached a stranger at a rest stop in Morgan County, claiming she had been kidnapped and requesting assistance. The stranger promptly alerted authorities, providing a description of the vehicle involved.

Covington police subsequently spotted the car on I-20 and attempted a traffic stop. However, the driver, identified as Charles Davis, fled the scene with the victim still inside. Law enforcement executed a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver to bring the vehicle to a halt in Rockdale County.

Davis attempted to escape on foot but was apprehended shortly thereafter. Fortunately, the victim was found unharmed. Investigators later determined that the kidnapping had originated in South Carolina before traversing into Georgia. Details surrounding how the victim re-entered the vehicle after seeking help remain unclear.

Davis now faces multiple charges, including kidnapping and false imprisonment in Georgia, and will also be prosecuted in South Carolina.

This incident highlights the swift response of law enforcement in ensuring the safety of the victim.
