UCLA Secures Spot in Women’s College World Series with 5-0 Victory Over South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C. — UCLA’s softball team clinched its place in the Women’s College World Series with a decisive 5-0 victory against South Carolina on Sunday, completing the Columbia Super Regional. This advancement marks the Bruins’ 36th World Series appearance, the most in NCAA history, adding to their record 12 national championships.

Jessica Clements was a standout player, scoring three runs, while Jordan Woolery contributed significantly with two RBIs. Woolery’s clutch performance continued from the previous day, where she hit a two-run walk-off homer in a 5-4 victory that leveled the series.

UCLA built on a 2-0 lead through six innings and sealed the game with three more runs in the seventh. Clements kickstarted the scoring with a single, ultimately leading to RBI opportunities for Savannah Pola and Alexis Ramirez. Pitchers Kaitlyn Terry and Taylor Tinsley limited South Carolina to four hits, with Terry earning the win, improving her record to 19-5, and Tinsley securing a save.

The Bruins look to capture their first championship since 2019 when they head to Oklahoma City for the World Series.
