Press Release: Shooting Investigation at Little River Dock
LITTLE RIVER, SC – A shooting incident occurred Sunday night at a dock where a private charter boat departs for cruises. The boat, which was docked, was intended for a party cruise advertised online, leading to a chaotic scene as reports of the incident unfolded.
Witnesses described a confrontation that escalated into gunfire after the boat docked. A distraught woman, connected to one of the attendees, recounted witnessing her friends being shot but declined to provide further details. Authorities have yet to make any arrests as detectives continue their investigation.
Randy Evans reported that his 25-year-old son was injured during the incident, suffering gunshot wounds to the ankle and toe. Quick-thinking, the young man used his bathing suit as a tourniquet to assist others more seriously hurt. Thankfully, Evans shared that his son’s surgery went better than expected, and he is expected to recover.
In a related incident, an officer responding to the scene accidentally shot himself in the leg at a nearby marina. He is currently hospitalized in stable condition.
Local officials are urging anyone with information to come forward as they work to piece together the events surrounding this tragic incident.
