LITTLE RIVER, SC — A shooting at a marina in Little River on Sunday night left ten people injured, authorities confirmed. The incident occurred around 9:30 PM as a charter boat docked after a Memorial Day weekend gathering. Horry County police reported that the violence stemmed from an altercation among attendees as they were disembarking.
Thankfully, no fatalities were recorded. One additional person was hospitalized due to non-shooting injuries. As of now, no suspects have been arrested or identified, and the victims remain unnamed. The most severely injured victims are reported to be in critical but stable condition, while law enforcement assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
The picturesque Little River, located about 20 miles from Myrtle Beach, is popular for fishing expeditions and dolphin cruises. By Monday, marina operations resumed as usual. In a related incident, a North Myrtle Beach police officer accidentally shot himself in the leg while responding to the scene, requiring hospitalization.
