Eleven Injured in Shooting Outside North Myrtle Beach

LITTLE RIVER, S.C. — In a chaotic incident on Sunday night, eleven individuals were injured following a shooting outside of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The event occurred shortly after a private charter boat, hosting a "Rock tha Boat" birthday party, docked at approximately 9:15 p.m.

Earlier in the evening, a passenger sustained injuries when a speaker fell on them. Authorities were alerted, and soon after, reports came in about multiple gunshots. Horry County Police Chief Kris Leonhardt confirmed that ten people were shot at the dock, with three victims transported by private vehicles and the remaining eight by emergency medical services. As of Tuesday, eight of the victims have been released from the hospital, while three are still receiving treatment, all expected to survive.

Chief Leonhardt classified the shooting as an isolated incident, with only one suspect believed to be involved. The investigation is complicated by the fact that many attendees were from out of town. Authorities encourage anyone with information or footage of the incident to contact the tip line at (843) 915-8477. Additionally, one officer accidentally shot himself in the leg while responding but is reported to be in stable condition.
