South Carolina Stingrays’ Jared Nightingale Named Head Coach of Rockford IceHogs in AHL Return

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays have announced that Head Coach Jared Nightingale will take the reins as Head Coach of the Rockford IceHogs, the AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks. Nightingale’s promotion comes after a standout season with the Stingrays, where he achieved a remarkable 52-15-5 record, setting franchise records for wins, points, and home victories. His successful stint earned him the 2024-25 John Brophy ECHL Coach of the Year award and helped the Stingrays secure the Brabham Cup for best regular season performance.

Prior to joining the Stingrays, the 42-year-old Nightingale spent three years as an assistant coach with the IceHogs, making his return to the franchise a natural progression in his coaching career. Stingrays President Rob Concannon praised Nightingale for his commitment and the exciting brand of hockey he brought to the team, stating, “He connected well with players and fans alike.”

The search for a new Head Coach for the Stingrays begins immediately as they look to continue their success in the upcoming season. Fans interested in 2025-26 season ticket plans can contact the Stingrays directly for more information.
