Sequel Patterson Reclassifies, Becomes Key Target for South Carolina Gamecocks
Athlete Sequel Patterson, a standout from South Carolina, has made headlines by reclassifying from the 2027 class, positioning himself as a prime target for the Gamecocks. Previously regarded as a four-star recruit, Patterson was the No. 2 player in South Carolina, the No. 3 athlete nationally, and ranked 73rd overall, according to 247Sports Composite.
Currently holding over 30 offers from prestigious programs like Tennessee, Michigan, Georgia, and South Carolina, Patterson showcased immense talent during his sophomore year, recording 441 rushing yards and three touchdowns, along with 52 receptions for 758 yards and seven touchdowns. Notably, he shone in games against Nation Ford and Catawba Ridge, proving his capability for big plays.
An all-around athlete, Patterson has also excelled in basketball, earning all-region honors with an average of 13.8 points per game, and securing a second-place finish in the high jump at the South Carolina State championships.
With the Gamecocks currently lacking a wide receiver or athlete commit for the 2026 class, Patterson’s reclassification adds urgency to secure an official visit and potentially bolster a slow-starting recruiting class.
