North Carolina Teen Arrested for Memorial Day Weekend Shooting Near Myrtle Beach
Little River, SC – A 16-year-old boy from North Carolina has been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured ten people during a party over Memorial Day weekend. The Horry County Police Department announced that the teen will face eight counts of attempted murder, along with charges for unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The incident occurred on May 25 at around 9:30 p.m. on a private boat at a dock in Little River, South Carolina, just south of the North Carolina border and approximately 20 miles northeast of Myrtle Beach. According to police, a confrontation erupted prior to the shooting, which resulted in multiple victims being hospitalized, some in critical condition. Remarkably, no fatalities were reported.
Due to the suspect’s age, his identity has not been disclosed. He is set to be transferred to Columbia, South Carolina, for further processing. The incident has raised concerns about public safety as the community grapples with the impact of this tragic event.
