RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — A tragic shooting on Saturday evening has left one woman dead and a 37-year-old man in custody in Richland County. The incident occurred in the 4300 block of Candlelite Drive after an apparent argument escalated.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of a shooting and discovered a female victim lying near a vehicle. Despite deputies performing CPR until paramedics arrived, the woman succumbed to her injuries shortly after being transported to the hospital.

Initially, the suspected shooter was not found at the scene. However, as the investigation unfolded, authorities identified him as Dexter Fuller. Eventually, Fuller returned to the location and was arrested on multiple charges, including murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Preliminary reports indicate that the shooting stemmed from a dispute involving Fuller and family members. The Richland County Coroner’s Office has yet to release the identity of the deceased. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
