Rep. Nancy Mace Considers Gubernatorial Run in South Carolina
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) is weighing a gubernatorial bid, stating she is "dead serious" about her political future amid concerns over law and order in South Carolina. Mace criticized the state’s perceived lack of conservatism, highlighting the recent controversy over Clemson University’s inclusion of 15 gender options on a form, which she deemed emblematic of "gender-bending ideology."
Mace also called out South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson for alleged corruption, claiming he has inadequately managed serious criminal cases. “Try to get a rapist convicted in my state, you can’t,” she proclaimed on the PBD Podcast, vowing to prioritize safety and uphold law and order if elected.
While praising Gov. Henry McMaster personally, Mace attributed various state issues to his leadership. She firmly opposes policies that allow men to share college dorms and showers with women.
While Mace has not rushed into a formal announcement, she’s actively engaging with constituents and intends to make a decision by summer’s end. Wilson is anticipated to announce his own gubernatorial run soon, which could influence Mace’s plans.
