South Carolina Offers Promising Tight End Recruit Judah Lancaster for 2027 Class
In an exciting development for South Carolina football, tight ends coach Shawn Elliott has officially extended a scholarship offer to four-star recruit Judah Lancaster. The young talent, currently at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, announced the offer on social media this past Wednesday.
Hailing from Arizona, Lancaster stands at 6’4" and has caught the attention of numerous programs, featuring a lengthy list of suitors that includes Arizona State, Arizona, Utah, UCLA, Texas A&M, Florida, Missouri, Oregon, and Ohio State. South Carolina and LSU are among his latest offers, contributing to an impressive total of over 30 scholarships he’s received.
Lancaster’s versatility on the field makes him a standout prospect. He excels in various positions, showcasing his ability as an in-line tight end, an off-set wing, and even in the slot as a "jumbo Y." Known for his athleticism, he poses a matchup challenge for defenders, particularly against slower linebackers or smaller defensive backs. With reliable hands and a knack for gaining yards after catch (YAC), Lancaster has demonstrated his offensive potential. While he may not be the most dominant blocker, he is a willing participant, adding valuable dimensions to his game.
According to the On3 industry rankings, Lancaster is currently ranked as the No. 312 overall player in the 2027 class, No. 19 among tight ends nationally, and No. 36 in Florida.
As of now, South Carolina has yet to secure any commitments for the 2027 recruiting cycle but has extended offers to eight tight end recruits, with Lancaster being the first from Florida. The Gamecocks are eager to build a strong future, and Lancaster could be a key piece in their recruiting efforts.
