North Charleston Police Officer Fired Following Incident with Ex-Girlfriend
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is investigating the conduct of former North Charleston Police Officer Larne Demarcio Green after he allegedly brandished his service weapon during a confrontation with his ex-girlfriend and another passenger.
Green was terminated from the police department on June 13, following a kidnapping incident that occurred on May 19 at the Regal Azalea Square Movie Theater in Summerville. Surveillance footage reportedly shows Green arriving in a marked patrol car and blocking the victims’ vehicle. While in full uniform, he approached their car and drew his department-issued firearm, allegedly aiming it at the passengers.
A verbal exchange ensued before Green holstered his weapon, allowing the victims to flee. The Summerville Police Department alerted the North Charleston Police about the situation four days later, prompting SLED’s involvement on May 23. Their investigation is currently active.
Green, who had been with the North Charleston Police Department since November 2021, was let go for misconduct, violating agency protocols. No mugshot of Green has been released, and the North Charleston Police have yet to comment on the situation.
