Hamilton Secures Title at USATF U20 Championships – University of South Carolina Athletics

EUGENE, Ore. (June 20, 2025) – The USC Gamecocks had a strong showing at the USA Track & Field U20 Championships this week, highlighted by freshman Joslyn Hamilton’s remarkable victory in the women’s 100-meter hurdles. Competing against top athletes, Hamilton clocked a preliminary time of 13.51, securing the third-fastest mark before triumphing in the finals with a time of 13.354, narrowly beating Anisa Bowen-Fontenot by just three-thousandths of a second.

In addition to Hamilton’s victory, Josiah Wrice excelled in the men’s 400 meters. After finishing third in his preliminary heat with a time of 46.27, he claimed the bronze medal in the final, running an impressive 45.82. Elijah Poore also competed, participating in the 3000-meter steeplechase and finishing ninth with a time of 9:23.95.
