Luigi Mangione, 26, is being questioned in Pennsylvania in connection with the shooting death of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Mangione was arrested on a firearms charge in Altoona, Pennsylvania, but has not been charged in the Thompson slaying. Authorities are investigating whether Mangione traveled from Philadelphia to Altoona by bus. Mangione was found at a McDonald’s restaurant in possession of multiple fake IDs, including one with the name “Marc Rosario.” The suspected shooter also checked into a Manhattan hostel under the same fake name. Thompson was killed on December 4 in front of the New York Hilton Midtown, in what police described as a “premeditated, preplanned targeted attack.” The shooter approached Thompson from behind and shot him at least once in the back and once in the right calf. Shell casings found at the scene had words written on them. The gunman fled on foot and then on a bike into Central Park. This is a developing story and more updates are expected.
